SPJRD editors and a student from the AB English Language Program participated in a collaborative teaching session at UiTM Puncak Perdana, Malaysia, thereby highlighting Indigenous and Bangsamoro philosophy, culture, and literature. During the session, scholarly lectures, research-based publications, and a student documentary were presented, collectively showcasing Indigenous languages, cultural archives, Bangsamoro literary expressions, disaster-related Indigenous knowledge, and the lived experiences of a Tausug community. Ultimately, the engagement underscored the importance of amplifying Indigenous and Bangsamoro voices, while preserving cultural memory and fostering inclusive, culturally grounded, and decolonized knowledge that transcends borders.

Prof. Sajed S. Ingilan of the Southeastern Philippines Journal of Research and Development (SPJRD) discussed the responsibility of publishing in documenting local knowledge, languages, and histories, particularly from Sulu and Mindanao. The conversation highlighted that visibility must go hand in hand with dignity and respect, and that sustaining regionally focused journals is an act of persistence, solidarity, and ethical responsibility. SPJRD showcases research on the cultures, languages, and lived experiences of Bangsamoro and indigenous communities, positioning them at the center of ASEAN’s cultural and academic understanding. Across discussions in Malaysia and Singapore, participants emphasized that knowledge circulates not only through formal publications but also through teaching, community engagement, and shared spaces, reinforcing the idea that scholarship rooted in local realities strengthens connections, accountability, and intellectual sovereignty. Through its work, SPJRD continues to amplify marginalized voices, preserve cultural memory, and contribute to national and global conversations, demonstrating that publishing grounded in place and community nourishes both ideas and people.

The book traces its evolution from pre-Islamic land practices to the reforms of Sultan Abu Bakr, showing how the system supports private ownership, communal stewardship, and the ethical use of land as a divine trust. Through historical and legal insights, it presents Lupâ Kamaasan as a socio-legal and socio-economic framework that promotes fairness, communal welfare, and sustainable agriculture, highlighting practices such as pagzakat (charity) and lupâ pagsawsawhan (crop-sharing) guided by the taumaas (elders).
