Muslim communities receive books and journals from USeP

Honoring their culture and language, the University of Southeastern Philippines College of Arts and Sciences has visited Muslim communities to give books and journals about them on May 30- June 10, 2025.

To directly connect with the recipients of the various publications, Assoc. Prof. Sajed S. Ingilan, Project Leader of the Publication of Bangsamoro History and Culture, Mr. Francis N. Reginio, Head of the Institute of Language and Creative Arts, and AB English Language students distributed the Panumtuman: Anthology of Bangsamoro Literature, a CHED-funded research program under the USeP Mindanao Center for Policy Studies, to the Tausug community in Tacub, Santa Cruz, Davao del Sur. Panglima Bari Baluan Indanan received the copy, thanking USeP for always remembering them in their initiatives.

Assoc. Prof. Macrina Adjerol Morados, JD, former dean of the University of the Philippines Diliman Institute of Islamic Studies, who originally hailed from Lupah Sug, also received the Panumtuman and copies of the Southeastern Philippines Journal Research and Development, a Q2-ranked Scopus-indexed journal dedicated to championing works about Mindanao and Sulu.

“I have heard about your work on us, and now, I personally received copies from USeP. I commend the knowledge production about our people through your publications, “Assoc. Prof. Morados expressed.

Down the southernmost part of the Sulu archipelago, Mindanao State University - Tawi-Tawi College of Technology and Oceanography Cultural Affairs Director Assistant Prof. Nelson Dino welcomed Assoc. Prof. Ingilan, SPJRD Chief Editor, as he handed the Panumtuman and copies of the SPJRD. Director Dino also got copies of the Indigenous Knowledge System and Practices Book 2, a project funded by CHED and the Office of Senator Loren Legarda.

Each book is a powerful reminder that stories, knowledge, and scholarship grounded in our lived realities continue to thrive.
