Meet the new SPJRD Adviser

The Editorial Board of the Southeastern Philippines Journal of Research and Development (SPJRD) is delighted to announce that Dr. Eric Charles Thompson is now a member of our International Board of Advisers.

Dr. Thompson, an Associate Professor of Anthropology at the National University of Singapore (NUS), brings a wealth of expertise in Southeast Asian societies, urbanism, and transnationalism. His deep understanding of the region’s social dynamics will be instrumental in guiding the journal’s growth and global reach.

This partnership was sparked at the International Conference on Southeast Asia (ICONSEA 11) in Kuala Lumpur last December. Together, we are committed to amplifying the voices of the peoples of Sulu and Mindanao—bringing their rich histories, local languages, and cultural practices into meaningful global academic conversations.
